Drug 2 deer out of the woods this weekend. Got word that my son made the basketball team. My daughter has decided that her brother will not out do her and she's gonna start whacking deer. I may need another freezer if she takes after her brother. Life is good TOO!

Good lord it sounds like the old man is cutting up firewood for this weeks cold front. He's snoring like there's no tomorrow, I'm bout to employ the launch pillow across room tactic to wake him.

Whelp early tee time for me tomorrow. Night y'all.

Just took a drive since there's snow on the ground. Saw what looked to be a buck based on body size feeding with 2 does. About 500 yards up the road there were 3 yotes, one was 20 yards off the road so I sat there and made mouse noises at it, Fugger was big!

Really disappointed in the lack of deer I saw around in the fields. I don't know if the standing corn around has to do with it or what.

Finally got the E-mail from my insurance company that we have been waiting on! we turned a claim in over a month ago for hail damage to our roof and siding from the June hail storm, the roof has been done for weeks, but the insurance company wanted to try to find a match for our siding, so we have been dealing with this, they supposedly found a match, the contractor ordered some and of course it didnt match, so everything had to documented and pictures taken and sent to the adjustor to review, so yesterday I got the email that do to a match not being able to be found that they will be residing the entire house to include window wraps and soffit(sp), 14, 625 dollars worth! We are meeting with the contractor this evening to pick out the siding color and trim and I hate to say it but hope for a warm up next week so they can get the job done!

good for you Tad. I am dealing with insurance right now as well. Guy ran a red light and hit our truck. He denied running the red light and there were no witnesses. His word against my driver. Rather than file a claim, I fixed the truck out of pocket to the tune of nearly $5000. Now his insurance company is trying to make me pay for his truck. Since I didn't file a claim they think they can push me around. Sooo, I ended up filing a claim. Now my insurance shows a claim against my policy and my insurance company is acting like they don't want to pay for it since they never saw the truck when damaged. What a crock. Glad you aren't getting a raw deal on this one Tad. Crossing my fingers and hoping my deal ends up alright, but I have little faith in insurance companies. Only thing you can count on is higher rates and poor response. When our roof had wind damage, they were only willing to pay enough to repair it which was less than my deductible. Thinking I need to find out who your insurance provider is. lmao

A day late but had 2 good things happen today, first off we set down with the contractor and picked out our colors for our siding and such, and the second more important thing is that I just got off the phone with the landowner of the property that I killed my biggest buck to date and have received permission to hunt it again! I lost permission the year before last because of the legalities of the landowner going through the leasing process for oil and gas rights and such, and also had a company that wanted to buy his place outright. The best part is that he called me and said that everything was now in order and that I was more than welcome to hunt this property anytime, so I'm pretty sure I know where I will be in the morning!!!!

Despite not filling my buck tag yet, Ive been able to be in the woods just about every day for at least a couple hours. Considering the lack of hunting I did last year, it really feels good. Just being able to get out there like i have been, doing the thing I love, is TOO good.

Now if I can just find someone else to deal with all the other crap in my life that needs done to 'keep on keepin on', I'll be golden! lol

The boys both passed the hunter safety cousre last night. They were both really excited. My 8 year old was about to have a panic attack before the test, but he pulled it together and scored a 92%.:smiley_boogie: Ethan took the test and cruised right through scoring a 94%. Really proud of them.

Question. How hard is the hunter safety course?? Back in my day you did not need to take a course, your dad taught the kid. Just wondering.
