It's a rivalry that mirrors OSU and Michigan and anything can happen because of that rivalry.... And yesterday proved that for sure......

Michigan stepped it up quite a bit because of pride in their rivalry against the team down south lol.....

Auburn played their hearts out and in the end it was a bad coaching decision by both losing coaches.....

That'll go down as one of the greatest games of all time. I watched bits and pieces at deer camp, then watched the end on DVR. Absolutely jaw dropping finish!

I support Auburn at #2 and would also prefer we don't play for the championship. Our offense can score on anyone, but I don't think we can score enough to counter the points an Auburn or FSU would put up on us. The defense is pathetic. I can't believe Roby is leaving early! All he has going for him is his speed. I sure hope we recruit some defensive speed and teach some tackling!!!

Anything can happen on any given day in College football. If both Michigan and Ala. would have made both of their final plays and scored. We'd all be saying " great call" to Hoke and Saban. I have to admire Michigan for at least showing up and making a great game out of it! O-H.....

As a Michigan fan, I'm saying great call to hoke anyway. What did they have to lose? They came in, and gave the big dog all they could handle. they made their point. I dont blame him a bit for going for the win. Showed a lot of confidence in his team and that says a lot to the guys that are coming back next year.

I was calling for him to go for it also. Didn't like the play call as it didn't have options (what we are good at... i.e. pitch with option too pass) but felt we had momentum again...go with it.

Hoke made the right call and he is a guy I would be proud to call my coach. The only damage I see it could have made was on gardners confidence. That's an easy tab to pay though as they get a bit of a break

Ohio state will struggle badly against anyone in the top 10. Top 5 offense and a top 100 defense. Not gonna fly well

Well now we'll get to see if this statement holds true. Mich St is now ranked #10 and they play the Bucks Saturday for the Big Ten Championship.

I agree with our resident M fans. I think it was a great call as well. Just goes to show how rank means squat in these rivalries. Michigan came to play. They were "up" for this game without a doubt. They played their butts off and I commend them. If heart and drive determined the final score, Michigan should have won.

Not to say MI doesn't have talent. They sure showed it yesterday. Just haven't pulled it together the last 3-4 games of the season.

Where's Joe? He an Auburn fan this week? Mississippi? LSU?

Was back home visiting family. Make no mistake. I am a tried and true Bama fan but I am first and foremost a SEC fan. As much as it pains me to see auburn win that game I can give credit where it's due and find tons of fault with Bama. Something OSU fans seem incapable of at times. Auburn showed up and played great ball. They moved the chains time and time again against a powerhouse defense. Auburn offense had their number. And their defense was right there with them. They played a hell of a game and deserved the win. Alabama got what they deserved. That kicker needs his teeth kicked in. He left 9 points on the field that should have been gimme field goals. Then to try for a 56 yard attempt is just plain stupid. It was a great game between a number 4 and and all season number 1 team.

Now that I've been frank about Bama. Let's be frank about OSU. They don't deserve to be where they are in the rankings. Never have been this season. Barely beating by the seat of their pants a team not even in the top 25 is nothing to brag about and hardly what I would call a title shot clenching game. But that's the nature that is OSU, go in to the season over ranked, play a soft strength of schedule, stay ranked and finish out undefeated. That's why they end up in title games against battle hardened teams and lose 48-14 then come back the next year and lose again 38-24. That's not a title game. That's an over ranked team with a soft strength of schedule finally being put to the test.

Auburn should absolutely face Florida in the title game. Number 4 Auburn just unseated the reigning number 1 team and will play a number 5 team next weekend. OSU was a failed two point conversion away from loosing to a team not even in the top 25. Sad. And all they have left is a number 10 team to beat. That's nowhere near what auburn has done to earn it. Even as a one loss team they've had a much steeper mountain than OSUs hill. Likely the powers that be are tired of 7 back to back BCS titles going to the SEC. Especially when the last 4 have gone to the state of Alabama. It's likely their voting will reflect that distaste. That, and the OSU "comeback" makes for a better fairytale ending than yet again a alabama team wins. If, and I think they will, OSU ends up playing FL, it'll be a good game. mostly because FL is in the same boat. They haven't played anyone this season to challenge them. It's the ACC. The title game would be a battle as they're both over ranked due to soft strength of schedules. Kind of like two midgets fighting over the world heavyweight title. Fun to watch. But just doesn't make sense.

You are a wordsmith Joe. Sounds like a George W analogy on a drunken binge. Say the quoted portion with a GW accent. lmao

Only part I disagree on is the broad stroke of the brush about OSU fans.

Plenty of us giving MI credit in this thread. It isn't because I am a closet Michigan fan. Ric/Ron? They are hardcore Buckeye fans. All over there are people giving the boys up north the credit they deserve this week. There will always be a handful of a-hole fans no matter what the team.

There is a big difference between admitting Michigan played an awesome game, and acknowledging OSU isn't the football team they appear to be on paper. The highest ranked team they've played this entire season is number 16 northwestern. Their strength of schedule is ranked number 61 in the nation. On the other hand. Auburn just unseated the reigning number 1 team, and their SOS is 24 in the nation. It's a no brainer that Auburn better deserves the title appearance even with one loss. But as I said earlier. They don't want another BCS title going to the SEC especially not a 5th in a row to an Alabama team. An the OSU "comeback" makes a better story. This is evident by the coaches poll not having a single vote for Auburn to be ranked number 2 over OSU despite the fan polls overwhelmingly supporting it. If OSU goes to a title game it's good that they'll be playing Florida. Whose SOS is like 50 something in the nation. Otherwise it would be one boring blowout.

Sorry Joe, but Florida won't be playing anyone. They aren't bowl eligible. Can you please explain to me though, how two big twelve teams , who were usually bottom dweller there, came into the mighty SEC and and has been pounding on you guys? If Missouri had their starting qb, they would be undefeated.

Auburn still has one more huge hurdle ahead of them with Mizz. Joe, I will say the main thing you said that I agree with and nobody else is even talking about is FSU plays a schedule that mirrors the Buckeyes.

Go Bucks!!!!
