Well this was bitter sweet for me honestly. It's sooooo hard to age a buck in a deer gun situation like mine. He came flying down the hollow at 30-35 yards with heavy snow on the trees. I saw his heavy 5 point side and no time to think. I went to kill mode and had a good shot. Upon looking him over, his body was rather small for his large rack. Great mass and a 17.50 " in side spread, but he looks to be a good 3 year old. We will send his teeth out to have him aged. Hopefully he's not younger than 3.5? I still am very happy with him and sharing my success with great friends and my Bro!

great job Ron, size never matters when you have a great hunt with friends and family.

You are absolutely right, but age does. I would rather shoot a 4.5-6.5 year old 120"-130", than a 2.5-3.5 that scores the same. It's just more difficult to make those assumptions when you have little time to field judge a deer's age.
It was a great time spent with friends and I was truly blessed.
