I heard 3 shots tonight while out working. Not bang, bang, bang. Probably the appropriate time to reload a muzzle loader. Maybe a bit quick. Just scratching my head trying to figure out how in the world someone gets THREE shot opportunities at a deer? Must have wounded it the first time is all I could figure.

Hunted dark to dark in Ashtabula. 2 shots in the morning (1 was a miss by landowners friend) and 3 shots this afternoon/evening. Of 11 hunters I know of in Ashtabula today, only 3 doe were seen from sun up till 12.

3 out of 5 in our group had shots at deer yesterday..... Zero hits we had quite a few deer moving and 8-10 on one of the drives.... I missed a decent 8-10 point on the first drive of the morning, I suspect a limb got in the way of the vitals..... Well at least that my story I'm hanging my hat on lol.....

The best I have seen was a guy we came up on while hunting public a few years ago. It was right when Remington had released that muzzy that looked like a rem 700. I asked if it was one of them and his reply was that it was a Remington all right caliber .270. He had just taped a ramrod to the bottom of the barrel. The gw got a call on that one once we had service.

Come on Phil doesn't everyone. I took 3 shots during early ML season this year and connected on the 3rd shot. You just have to be good and lucky.

Psychic:) 16,464 reported killed, It I obvious that 29 other deer were killed and never checked in with the tele-check system:)

Hahaha Kim! I saw you posted the total on the other thread and went back to my guess on page two to see how close I was knowing I said somewhere mid 16 grand! You beat me to my crowing...lol

I just got lucky but I'm surprised it was this high! I have only seen three small doe total counting our one afternoon of muzzy hunting, one afternoon of xbow hunting and all my travels over the past week. It's gotten to the point it like a novelty if you see a deer around my area these days. The weekend before Christmas we traveled St Rt 22/3 from Morrow to Zanesville then another 40 miles to my moms and saw 0 deer going both ways on our trip. Downright eerie and disappointing...but I'm sure the FB and insurance companies are tickled!

We're still down -13.5% as a whole over last season.

Over by 1004 Dang it lmao. I blame it on hunter effort, unable to adapt to deer movement, acorns, squirrels, weather, and any and everything else lmao.

Mostly just the lack of deer and suprised as well that it was as high as it was. Musta counted some of the roadkill to fudge numbers to make it look better lmao.

since I don't get all that much time to hunt...when muzzy comes around I do fill 3 quickloaders to take with me...if tuesday comes around and I haven't fired a single one yet, I will take to the woods (time permitting) and fire all 3.

sunday evening I heard 3 shots across the road at the public are I decided to hunt that afternoon...3 spaced out shots, at about 5:15, pretty sure they did the same thing I do...cuz I didn't see any deer run my way.

Duck and goose season was in through ML so thatmay explain some barrages . Those numbers seem about right considering nearly unhuntable temps Monday and Tuesday . People whom I know who hunted over the weekend all killed at least 1 deer ea except for a couple
