Too much twist for 50 grain bullet jmo .

A 1:9 twist in a 16" barrel has been too much twist for a 50gr load for you before? Never seen that weight being an issue. 1:7 with 50gr or less I have seen but not 50gr with a 1:9 short barrel. Something I will watch for more.

My .223 with a 1/9 twist shoots a 69gr bullet the best. If I drop down to a 55gr it is always low and to the left because of the spin on the bullet. I was told the lighter bullet spins too fast in the barrel and it actually curves as well as the normal drop. I would go with a heavier bullet and I bet you will have better groups with that 1/9 barrel.

I agree a 50 grain would be better in a 1 in 12 twist if the bullet didn't tumble I would try a 60 or better gr bullet in a 1in 9 barrel jmo
