Trigger happy if you ask me. That moose started to walk off and probably would have left them well enough alone after the initial conflict but the guy decided that wasn't enough and started to move forward before the moose finished moving off. He provoked the second and deadly charge IMO.

It's easy too arm chair, but not knowing the whole story we can speculate all day long and in the end the guy might have been right in his decision... Or wrong for that matter as well..... All I know is if what I saw was going down in front of me that moose would of been on the ground as well..... I wouldn't have ridden away with out an empty mag as well.....

Arm Chair I'm sitting in tells me he seen that moose way before the incident and could have avoided it. I could see the moose tracks and poo in the snowmobile trail. Can't tell me he didn't have enough notice and could have turned around or took another path. Yet he decided that the moose didn't have the right of way on the trail and pushed the issue.

That is a shed bull like Jesse said and not a cow. Either one would stand their ground specially if they have had as harsh a winter as we have had here. Those trails make survival much easier as they will not burn as many calories so the little food they do find will help keep them alive. As we have seen with Gern's pics of deer here they are a little more bold when they are in survival mode and need food. That bull was standing his ground for his food. He seen a threat and did what was natural for him to do. Can't blame the animal if you ask me.

Just like walking into a bar and finding the biggest SOB in there and hitting on his ol lady. He tells you to stop and you continue to push in on her and you get your ass kicked. Was it the big fellas fault you got your ass kicked?

Adam, you've based your stance on watching it over and over...... He didn't have the option you did...... He based his decision on the moment it happened right or wrong.... He may have screwed up in his actions leading up too it.... I don't know the minutes leading up too it, I'm basing my opinion on what I saw in the timeframe I saw it happen...... And a bull moose jumping up at me like that would be dead bull moose........

J, I only know that I would not have put myself in that situation in the first place. If your going to go out and enjoy the outdoors you should know what animals are out there and what the possibilities may be. If you go out there thinking your the top of the food chain and you own everything under the sky well, your in for some surprises in the great outdoors.

Given what I seen in the moments of the video and seeing just a little glimps of what happened. Dude was in the wrong. If you rev up an engine and clap and shout and the animal doesn't move, then why would you move closer? From what I seen, he was the aggressor and not the moose.

From what I saw he made an encounter with a wild animal more intense. He could have kept his distance or backed out. He continued forward causing the situation. I think once the moose made contact with him his temper took over and he figured since he had a gun he would "win" the encounter. Not much of a sportsman in my opinion.
