Most TV personalities have no idea what real hunting is about. His grunting and snort wheezing was probably edited in to make "good TV". There was probably a high fence just out of camera view.

I agree with all that's on here about rangefinders. You have to know land markers so you can minimize movement and focus on the shot.
I was switching channels last night and there was a brown bear hunt in Alaska so I watched it. The bow shooter was using his range finder constantly. He even used it at what looked like 10 yds. or less when he made the killing shot.
WTF even I can make a 10 yd. shot.
