Went out this morning and it was pretty windy, decided to get out before a tree fell on my head. No deer sightings.

had a huge limb fall onto another stand I have set up from last season, glad I wasn't in it!
so, if you're in a tree & it falls ..... What kind of sound do you make ??
No hunting for us today. The downside of the pizza world is that Friday is pretty much a work all stinking day kinda deal. Mason has two baseball games tomorrow, so no hunting in the afternoon and I doubt we'll go in the morning either. We will likely hit it on Sunday evening. Gonna be a long couple of days waiting to get back after 'em! Good luck to all of you that can get out. Cooler temps should help with movement I'd think.
Dang Ben! That could have been devastating! I often wonder during long lulls on an all dayer when sitting in a particular tree if it were to fall over while I'm in it just what would be my choice of action:
1. Do my best to swing myself around to the side away from impact and ride it down.
2. Disconnect myself from my harness and leap to a smaller tree and bear hug it or grab for a sturdy limb.
3. Start praying and hope for the best.
4. Just shit myself and hope I at least survive and not hurt too badly.
I once had a oak limb(deadfall) about the size of a baseball bat but not quite as thick on the fat end fall and hit me square on the head on a clear and calm day during the rut. I was still hunting an oak flat below a saddle and it came out of nowhere and damn near knocked me out! I dropped my bow and rolled and sat there on my ass wondering what the hell just happened! I thought for a second that someone played a trick on me as I looked around before gathering myself and my gear to resume hunting. I must have looked pretty silly and if the animals could laugh I'm sure Ida got a standing O!lol
I'm pumped for this weekend. Shaping up to be a pretty solid couple of days to be in the woods.
