Guessing you sat in that stand on the cutover at the east property watching toward the swamp and that buck was on the east treeline?

Dante- Why did it take so long? Because shit happens sometimes. Think I barely hit a limb or something. Shot was not one i was or ever will be proud of. Backed out. Came back. Tracked 100yds. Jumped her. Backed out. Got Hank. Worked him hard today. He earned his keep. Ended up bumping her 3 more times. Every time she started bleeding out again and didn't go quite as far. Between what I was witnessing and knowing I had to leave for the game by 5pm, I knew I had to keep pushing her or she was buzzard bait. Need to Google Earth the distance. I have no doubt Hank worked that blood trail over 1/2 mile. Finally saw an eyeball in a blow down. Took Hank out to the UTV. Stalked in with bow in hand and finished her. Felt real good to close the door on that hunt. Truthfully one of the top hunts I have ever had. I was as pumped as if I had killed a B&C buck when I recovered her. Very satisfying knowing I finished what I started. Very proud of how well Hank worked the trail also.
Body shots for Redcloud. Yes, she was healthy. Big brisket on her too. Ignore the poor shot placement in the gut. Final arrow was while she was laying in a blow down. All I could see was her head. Thought she was sideways. Apparently she was facing away from me with her head looking back toward me. Oops. Well the Texas heartshot kept her from running off again. Not what I had in mind. Just thankful it was effective. Not usually the way I get to their hearts with my arrows.

Nice job gettin it done man! At least you found her! I'm gonna hunt a small kill plot of brassicas between standing corn , thick bedding and acorns this morning

Good luck to you too! My dads gonna be set up on a thin hardwood ridge funnel between cut beans and crp that connects two big blocks of woods. The LO said he saw some huge rubs there so should be good if any does are gettin hot

Well nvm... Drove 45 mins and got to the farm and my dad realized he left the harnesses outside the car. Looks like it's gonna be an afternoon hunt lol
