Dane and I will be out hunting, we are taking the muzzleloader loaded with 100 grains and a powerbelt. I have a good feeling, hopefully the weather will be decent.

I'll be down at Strouds with my 11 year old Saturday and Sunday(he is the one in my avatar and was 8 at that time)! I always look forward to spending quality time with him, seems the older they get the more stuff they have going on... I should know that by now with my 19 and 21 yr olds...

Good luck at Strouds! Hopefully there won't be quite so many bikers and hikers!:)

Thanks Brock! Good luck to you and Mason as well! I try hard to stay away from those trails but alot of them venture through some of my better spots. With the warmer temps I am sure the trails will be loaded with both Hikers and Bikers so we will probably go behind the lake somewhere..

Well, my plan is to set up Kody in the morning at a location at our club where I have shot quite a few deer. He's gonna sit with my dad and I'm going to do a small push.
It's the same push my dad used to do for me and usually produces some deer and occasionally a shot at a decent buck.

Then, head back home, warm up, head to our usual farm for an evening sit.

Sounds awesome Mike C. Wish I could share in three generations of hunting tradition. Wish my son or daughter were more interested. I am with Mike A. and AHoldren. Dang kids just don't have the desire. My nephew would love it. We took a walk with the 17hmr tonight looking for squirrels. He does not possess the mental capacity or self control to teach him weapon proficiency. I refuse to teach him. I would feel guilty if he used it in a negative way in the future.

Phil, I'll be honest, kody is not as interested as he was before. In fact, Klay is more interested. I really thought it would be the other way around when they were younger.
In kody's defense, he hasn't had the encounters Klay has. I think Klay getting that buck last year really lit his fire. Klay always gets on Kody saying he would hunt every night if he could. For him, basketball has been in the way.

Kody has gotten deer, but not that one that really stoked the fire I guess. And his luck at sightings is non existent.

Or maybe he just has other distractions right now being 13. Dang girls

That's right Hicks my boy could care less. We have two basketball games in the morning then I plan to sit for an evening in a tree. Good luck to the young guns.
