Ive seen a lot of deer he's mounted going back 20+ years. All look good still. He used to clean house at taxidermy competitions. I'm very picky when it comes to who mounts my deer.

He'll I have waited several yrs before but have a new taxi this yr.If I get it in 6 to 8 months I will be thrilled. That seems awful fast but if it holds up long term guess you can't complain.Looks good.

That is some fast turn around! My buddy said mine would be done in a month and I'm like dude, please take your time! He wants to get it done though ha ha! He took care of all the form carving the first night. Seeing a turnaround time like this makes me feel better about mine! I still hope he takes about 2 months though and doesn't hurry it! That looks awesome though dude!

There's a big misconception about how long it "has" to take to mount a deer. Theres a lot of different ways to prepare a hide. My taxidermist pickles the hide first. Which means once pickled. Its cured, which stops the decaying process. Then he tans it. The hide can't rot, shrink dry out etc...... the old way that some taxis still use is borax.... and if rushed, that can dry out crack and pull etc..... when my taxi is done. The hide is literally like a piece of cured leather....

My taxi does the same process and can turn deer around quickly if need be following the pickling and tanning process.

He's home
Next to his twin who lived 9 years before him. Which I'm sure is a direct blood line. Crazy how genetics can survove . 9 years after killing the deer on the pedestal I shoot another deer from the same stand that is almost identical
