I hope you are right Greg...but time is about up! I don't think we need to be planning a shed hunt just yet though, we do have a little time left. :)

I'll tell ya how pathetic my year has been Brock. You've got as many bucks in that last video as I have seen all season!

I really hope it works out for you or Mason. How awesome would it be if you guys could bust both of then before the end if the season?!

I'd love to see him get a shot Greg. He has stuck with it when it would have been easy to just shoot a buck and call it a year. Determined lil squirt for sure! I just got back from scouting a little. I just can't figure out where the best area to set up would be. We have great cover on three sides of the bait pile, they are coming from somewhere, and there are heavy trails like spider legs coming off the bait. I followed what I think to be the one he uses the most, and from what I know of the area across the fence, I picked another set up. I'll hunt it if I get out without Mason tagging along.

I just put the video up because it shows his 4's pretty well. It's hard to see just how impressive those tines are in most of the vids... He is just a cool looking deer. I still can't believe Mason didn't let temptation pull the trigger last year!

That drop tine is the one he had to let walk off last year during gun season as he had already filled his tag. He said he wasn't shooting any other deer this year, and so far he hasn't...

Wow, I hope I do half the job you have done with Masonwith my own son. What is his favorite drink? I want to make sure to have some for him the next TOO outing we are both at.

Clearly he's the Mac daddy of that bait pile! WHAT A MONSTER!!!! Those 4's might be 10" with the curve they have! He and beanie are both nearly unkillable! I wonder if clacking some antlers together as if two other bucks are fighting over the pile could bring him out earlier. Prolly best to do it from the blind to reduce the chance of getting caught moving though.

These two bucks simply amaze me!!! Still pulling for you guys!!! Good luck

That sounds like a good idea! Have you tried that, Brock?

I agree wholeheartedly! I have felt we would get a shot in one of four ways; 1. Early, when they were predictable. That neighboring farmer absolutely screwed my opening day plan! If only... 2. We would get lucky and get a crack at one of them during the rut. That ALMOST happened, but he turned 20 yards too soon. 3. I thought I could walk up on 'em during gun season. I still think I could have if it weren't for the new neighboring tenant with the two dogs that continually run loose. These deer moved, I blame the dogs. Where they moved to, I wouldn't sneak through during gun season due to the great probability of bumping them into another hunter. 4. I thought we might get a chance during January over a corn pile but figured we'd need brutal temps...and it's WARM! I just feel like we can't win this one, but we have had a good time and learned a thing or two along the way....and I'm getting better at making excuses. :)

The thing that is going to suck the most if we don't get him is knowing we'll burn next season looking for him again. Seriously, it's great to know there are deer like him around, and they are fun to get to know, but dang if it doesn't kill the "good time factor".

I'm heading over in the morning to back door them.... We are going to squirrel hunt, have fun and relax, but I plan to sneak into the area I think they spend the day and have a look around. I have nothing to loose at this point, and with time running short I'm going to find a morning set up close to the thick stuff. All bets are off, and I'm done betting on bait with moderate temps.

The farmer and neighbors dogs definitely screwed you guys up this season!

If you aren't able to close the deal on either one of these slobs be sure to keep those cameras running to monitor their shedding timetable. If they hang together and aren't pressured they'll hopefully both drop close by and relatively at the same time. I would be happy to help you and Mason find them for your mantle as you both worked your asses off and deserve them more than anybody! How cool would it be if we could rustle up about a dozen TOOzers and help make this thing happen! Count me in!!! I currently work weekends and are off Mon/Tues but could maybe get off work early on a weekend day to mKe it happen. Just let me know....

Gives me the feeling it could be like the movie, The Man from Snowy River but instead of chasing after brombies we're going after 4 huge sheds! I just hope Clansy(Taylor)is able to make it! Rotflmao

BTW.......a great movie!lol

No doubt. I am a salivating shed hunter wanting to help if they make it as well. Just not sure I could break away. Really hoping the antlers don't drop to the ground unless one of your broadheads slices through them!
