I thought tonight was going to be the night, but again, it wasn't. I lost count of how many deer I saw, but once the first one showed, I had deer around me all evening. I saw several of the small bucks that tend to hang with the big boy, but he never showed. I'm working on getting things covered to go again tomorrow, but it may not happen.

The buck pictured was the best one I could have shot. He's a small 8 that Mason has passed a couple of times. If I can get Mason out tomorrow, and this guy shows up again, there is no guarantee for his safety. :) Tomorrow will definitely be our last sit of the year if we make it out. Baseball camp has priority on Sunday, Thursday, Fri and Saturday are a no go for a lowly pizza guy...at least this week.

Sounds like a great hunt Brock! You my friend have had many great hunts this season and have had gotten very close to having an opportunity at harvesting two very smart and elusive deer. I hope one last time this season it happens tomorrow but if it doesn't I still consider you both having a great and successful season! Thanks for letting us tag along!!!

Youre right Ric, its been a good season! These guys have just beat us, but their stake in the game is a lot higher than our's. Already forming a plan for late September. ;)

Btw, as seen in the pic above, I took Masos xbow tonight. I cant tell you how tempting that scope makes things... good grief, I dont know how he passed so many. All ya gotta do is touch the trigger!

Thanks guys. I wish it were 30 degrees cooler, and season was in for just one more week... but wishes don't get us far, so we'll take what we can get. Pretty excited to get back after 'em tonight, Mason is free to shoot whatever has horns, even if they are really, really small. :)
