It wouldn't take you so many shells if you weren't shooting that ugly ass Mossberg. :smiley_crocodile:

Funny, There was an 1187 and a 870 in the field today with me.. Nether did any better... However i did see Brocks kid Mason who is 7 years old bust one at 45 yards with a NEF single shot .410 that had a tasco red dot literally electrical taped to the barrel.. I was trailing behind that dove that was out there about 45 yards and was giving the kid time to shoot.. The dove got past him and right before the report of my gun, what do I hear? POP! And the dove folds... He fired that .410 not a half second before i finished my swing and i clearly saw that bird ball up and start towards terra firma. Little sucker knocked feathers out 2-3 more birds about 30-40 yards too.... I say his hit percentage was close to 75%...

It's a Public land dove field with 50 people in it.. Yeah, the birds aren't exactly taking en evening stroll... They are flat out balls to the wall wide open... That mossberg has never had a FTF, FTE and was knocking them out of the sky today.... Note the custom homemade cheek comb.. Made from the finest wood available... A Grade A select 2x4 i had in the garage... Stupid dog got the lower one when i put on the higher one back during slug season for the cantalever barrel.. Mossberg wants 20 bucks for it.. Piss on that I can make one custom.. LOL

Last year the guns never cooled down for 3 hours.. We royally SUCKED.. 3 guys fired a total of 325 shells in 3 hours and managed 43 doves. This year I was much better at shooting but the targets were less. We had wait times of 20-30 minutes sometimes and only managed 6 in 2.5 hours. I killed 4 and fired 22 shots. Wounded a couple that kept going to the next guy etc.. I don't think the doves have come down from up north yet. The problem with these fields is they get shot out within a week and the migratory birds just pass them up and the locals avoid them.

And pump release for people without 10 inch fingers..

I love my mossberg. I like the tang safety and the easy pump release, that and the fact that I could give two shits if I ding, nick, scratch or get the dang thing dirty. Joe, I have driven by a few fields up this way and have seen literally HUNDREDS of doves flying over them or hanging on the power lines...
