My idea was to have a .22 category and a shotgun category. Under .22, you have most head shots and heaviest squirrel. Under shotgun you have longest tail and heaviest squirrel. Cumulative you have heaviest bag, longest red, and longest grey. Give away TOO stickers, hats, shirts to winners.

Campsites for tent, camper and RV are available across the road from the group camp for a nominal fee. We also reserve the group camp area which has room for a couple small campers and several tents. All depends on what level of comfort of you are looking for, but there is something for everyone.

Athens is only about 10 minutes away for a hotel also.

Being the gathering is in October, could also do a fishing contest. I think they stock that lake. If it's 70*+, I'd much rather be sitting on the bank fishing with a cooler of cold beer, catching slab Crappie's.

My deer stand has a steady flow of them going by lol.... Of course they are all over the neighborhood as well.... Now fox squirrels are getting rare around these parts....

I like it Jesse! At our camp we weigh em and do a bag count.
I may bring some candied sweet potatoes and the makings of gravy. Now wouldn't that taste great around the fire!!!
