That both end flu Ain't no joke. I did the same thing a few weeks ago. Woke up and went to the store to get stuff for the kids because they started it during the night. By noon I had it from both ends. Not fun at all. The older I get the more I hate to puke. Seems like it gets more forceful the older I get lol.
Esophagus is burning from it..... Haven't puked in 3 hours so knock on wood.... Waters all I've had since this morning.....
No sick bay but I got a purty nurse.... Made me soup an all.... And I held it down so far..... I can do without her behind me spraying lisol everywhere though.... lol

Thanks everyone, just woke up from a 12 hour nap and feel 100% better.... Going downstairs too get some breakfast and a cup of coffee and see how that works.... Appreciate all the well wishes, hopefully this is the last of flu season for me....
J best of luck on your recovery. I get the flu shot every year and haven't had the flu in 10 years. The last time having the flu about 10 yrs. I must have had the start of the flu and got the flu shot and it damn near did me in.
Frank, being in the Military for the last 35 years I've had the shot every year (Mandatory for us) and it's a crap shoot I've gone years without it and then bang get it a couple of times a year..... Since I haven't missed one in 35 years I can't say if it would be worse if I hadn't of got it or not......... But retiring this year I am thinking about blowing it off just too see lol.....
The chance of you getting the shot that is effective for the strain of flu you catch is pretty low. The .gov claims something like 20% effectiveness. You know they inflate all their numbers.

I have received the flu shot for the past 18 years.
No flu since.
When I do get sick its rather short....even colds....3-5 days and over. In my mind I'd like to lay tribute to "the flu shot".
Now that I said that I'll probably die of something next week, hope not, but who knows.....

The wife is constantly telling me that if you get the shot and later get the flu, the effect of it is lessened.... But after getting the shot for so long I think I'll try my own experiment and see..... Who knows.... Just my rebelling of not HAVING too get it.....
My wife is a nurse also. She swears by it and says I should get it. I don't. I think it is a joke. Got sick a couple times this past winter. Not "the flu" which was going around though. This past winter's flu strain was hard core. Mine was most likely a result of a reduced immune system due to abusing my body with horrible sleep patterns from plowing snow. Skip the shot J! Be a rebel. lmao
Yeah having a wife as a nurse, or anyone d along with sick people is a curse at times especially during cold and flu seasons.... Let's face it most people don't go too the Doc's too socialize.... And they in turn bring it home.... Germ carrying caregivers lol....
