Most of the corn and beans are either ready or damn near around here. I'm excited about the corn coming down early this year, last year it was up until mid November and I'm pretty sure I missed a lot of action.

Fayette County corn will start falling today…. I just got the call that I was needed this afternoon. FUGG yes boys!!!!

Like a lot of areas, it will make a huge difference there. The first year I hunted there, I did not see a deer until Oct 22. Millers shelled corn, I was covered up with deer soon after. When the corn is standing, you would swear there are absolutely NO deer there.

Out getting a few things done the last two days and this cooler weather has the bucks feeling frisky.
Saw several scrapes on two farms. uploadfromtaptalk1442343903329.jpguploadfromtaptalk1442343925057.jpguploadfromtaptalk1442343944363.jpguploadfromtaptalk1442343961926.jpguploadfromtaptalk1442343980218.jpg

We've got a mixture of green, yellow and completely brown fields out here. I'd say maybe 1/3 of what's around me looks like it's about ready to harvest. There was standing corn next to my spot last year until probably the second week of November. This year it's beans so hopefully the deer will still be around and won't have as many places to hide.

I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas right now. Cannot wait to go sit in the woods!

Just talked to the farmer with corn on our place. He plans to cut in the next week or two. Asked if he would leave me 6-8 rows standing and he was good with it. That may prove to be huge!

I don't know why u guys want your corn gone.... standing corn is phenomenal cover. They can't just stay in it all the time, they have to come out. Some of my best hunts have been adjacent to standing corn. Once the corn goes so do the deer. I prefer to have standing corn to hunt on a property

Agreed. I want that corn up as long as possible. When the corn is standing where I hunt the deer are Johnny on the spot. Soon as the corn comes down my sighting are cut in half. Two huge factors when it comes to bucks is food and cover. Corn provides both.

Corn is nobody's friend in the area Giles and I are talking about. These are not little 30 acres fields, these go for miles and miles. Different parts of the state, different situations.
