I would say it's all staged. Like the time he flew into his refuel dump and a bear bite into the plastic gas can. It was live threating my ass as the film crew flew in first to stage his landing.
Another time when he made a forced lading due to weather and the film crew was down there first to film the live threating set down.
I guess most people don't think of it that way.
He is still on the show but they are in the off season taping right now and probably won't start filming again for another month or so for season 5. He said at some point he will have no option but to retire given he is in his early 70's and the days of rodeo and hard work are catching up to him. He also said that as long as he can get around and do what he loves he will stay put right there in Montana.
Here was the sheet they handed out when you got the wrist band.

The only thing I hated was the line being setup like at the bank and being pushed around like cattle going to the slaughter house lol.

That's cool that you met them, Adam. I'm a fan of Tom too. Seems to enjoy doing his thing, even if he does it slow.
Slowing down is the only way to enjoy many different things in life Brock lol.
