So far I've got a dog that won't stop barking, and in the last minute someone started practicing playing their drums, and a chainsaw fires up. So much for price and solitude.

Here was Friday evening or Saturday morning, can't remember which.

Wonder if it's to early in the season to do some rattling?

I got out again tonight and saw 4 does and a fawn, nothing came in range or I would have taken a shot. The woods seemed really alive tonight, rabbits hopping around, tons of chipmunks, and the birds were all over the place. Great night to be in the stand

I agree with Jason Short. Woods were alive. Ended up seeing 3 slick heads.

Too early to rattle? Depends how you rattle Steve. I watched a couple bucks sparring earlier this week. Tonight I heard some sparring that sounded like full bore combat. Never saw the bucks. I suspect it was the disphit guys in the next property over "calling". If you try it, just do some nice and gentle rattling. Don't go crazy like the rut.

Alright guys, put an arrow in a doe tonight just before dark not sure where the arrow hit her but I found all but 10" of arrow. Spotty blood tracked roughly 100yards to some real thick stuff last time I seen blood was about 5 drops the size of a quarter she hadn't bedded to that point. Going back out in the morning to look some more

First morning g for me as well. 2 doe with fawn and a spike so far. Sprinkles just started. I'm sitting untill 11. I'm on the backside of my sanctuary where poplar stand turns into predominantly oaks. Good sign slipping in.

Well from last found blood I walked all over the thicket she headed into and never found another drop. Hopefully she will survive long enough for me to get another shot at her again. She still has 10" of arrow and a hypodermic stuck inside her some where

That's a bummer man, I know the feeling. I went through the same thing at the beginning of the week. Hopefully she shows herself and you can finish her off.

Hate to hear it. How wide do those things open up? I have seen some Rage blood trails that were insane and heard stories like this one which leave me scratching my head. I am not stirring the pot or trying to start a debate. I honestly do not know how big an opening one can expect from the hypodermic.
