Hate to hear it. How wide do those things open up? I have seen some Rage blood trails that were insane and heard stories like this one which leave me scratching my head. I am not stirring the pot or trying to start a debate. I honestly do not know how big an opening one can expect from the hypodermic.
2" cut on a hypodermic. I shot a doe with a hypodermic last year, she went 10 yards and dropped like a brick. I'm thinking this shot was just too far back.

It's either a 2" or 2.25" cut on the hypodermics. But the hit sounded very solid so I think I hit her forward in the shoulder.

You must of hit below the shoulder. I'm drawing 72# at a 32 inch draw length with uncut Easton fmj's and I hit a buck square in the shoulder 2 years ago, the broadhead didn't get any penetration.

All settled in. Last time I hunted this stand I killed my buck. Wife was grouchy I was hunting that night. She is grouchy at one of the kids tonight because he acted up and lost permission to go to the football game. This ruined our date night which she was looking forward to. Asked her 3 or 4 times "you're sure you don't mind?" I'm sure she does but I'm here.

Good luck tonight guys! Feels like something is going to die tonight. Not saying I will be the guy. Just saying, seems like a good night for it.

Agreed. And ditto on not trying to start any broadhead debates. I just talked to two people this week who have had penetration issues with hypodermics. I don't care what people use but this makes three people this week that have had issues with the hypodermic.

Hopefully my afternoon meeting goes well. I'm hungry.

Might be filling up inside with blood and didn't spill any for some distance though...

Very true. My buck last year was a Single lung shot with no pass through. I had little more than a sprinkle to follow. He threw the bolt after 30 yds and piled up at 60. Would've made for hard tracking except for the snow. When I gutted him it was like someone dumped a 5 gallon bucket of blood. His chest cavity filling with blood was what did him in

I've had my share of high lung shots that had that happen before on more than a few occasions..... Grid patterns work very well for those.....

So in Trumbull county tonight it was windy as hell but I decided to get a sitter and go out anyways cuz it's gonna be tough to do in about 2 weeks. Rain died down so I went in anyways. So the only private access I've been able to land is 7 acres. Not great but I'll take it until I do more networking. So about 645p I had to sneeze like nobody's business and did. My thought is...well f*ck guess my nights done. So I'm gathering my stuff, get off the stand, and hear this loud crunch just to my right. 10' away is the 8 point I posted pics on under the tail cam forum. For some reason he didn't wanna stick around...now I'm having a beer it's been a tough season otherwise so far having seen 1 deer total...well now 2.....

And... Skunked. I'm going to sneak in a thick spot in the morning and see what comes through. I had a camera set up there for a week with no memory card and my pile of apples is gone. Need to go in and dump some apples anyway so I'm going to go in and hunt on the ground tomorrow and dump the apples on my way out. I also saw a buck walking towards that spot early one morning so I'm hoping he does that tomorrow so I can get a better look at him.

Then off with my 8 year old daughter to scout a small wood lot we just got permission on. I'd like to dump some apples or corn there tomorrow and see what comes in. The plan is to set up a blind right inside the woods that's easy to get to and hunt there with my daughter. If we gets pictures of big bucks during daylight I'll hang a stand in there somewhere for myself too.

Still have not seen a deer yet this season but I've only hunted 1 of 3 properties and it's still early.

You guys are shooting deer with 70# bows and crossbows with rages and aren't getting pass throughs!!! My girlfriend got a pass through with a 38# recurve last week. Time to open your eyes and pick a decent broadhead! There I stirred the pot for you Phil. Lol.
