I have nothing against gun hunting. Hell I carried a gun all morning. Had the hammer back 4 times. Just couldn't make myself shoot. If I was desperate for meat id have the gun in hand. Other than my first deer I have never killed a buck with a gun. Not that I wouldn't. There is just a certain amount of respect that I carry for the deer that I'm not fulfilling when I'm walking around with a gun.
I respect them too. How could we not? I've been humbled with every form of weapon. You have some tenacity to stick it out trad style. I respect that about you. Good luck man!

We didn't see a thing. I can handle not seeing deer from time to time but I wish my daughter could see some. Luckily she has a great attitude about it and still had fun. I smiled and gave her a big high five when we got in the truck and said "good hunt!" She smiled back and agreed that it was a good hunt.

I wish I had been able to get out tonight, beautiful evening! Tomorrow should be fun. A few old men and a few young boys chasing deer with guns. Probably make some die hard bow hunters cry. :)

Sat in a spot that I've never hunted thinking that it looked like a spot not many people would want to hunt. I ended up seeing 4 does and hit one at 70ish yards but I don't think it was a good hit. On the first shot she spun around and stumbled then ran 20 yards, I shot again and missed I believe. She ran into the woods where I lost track of her. After a while of searching the trail she ran on I found blood, but only a few tiny drops and they led straight onto private property. I also found two small white hairs, so I'm really thinking I got a leg hit....hopefully not. I decided to head home since I couldn't see 20 yards with the fog and wasn't sure who the landowner was. I'll be out in the morning trying to contact the landowner and hopefully get permission to go look for her. Not a good feeling right now
