Live from the stand!

Out of the stand around 1pm. Just finished taking a drive to see who else is out, eating lunch, and gearing up again. Whew. Haven't done a dark to dark (minus lunch) in a loooooong time. I am pooped and have a few hours to go.
End of day 6 dark to dark hunting, I should really be leaving the family farm and headed home, but I can drive in the dark.
All settled in the climber. I wanted a new view, forgot how easy ladder stands and hang ons make it lol.

Back at it and I have my daughter with me this time. Really hoping she gets to see some deer tonight. We've been skunked on every hunt together so far.

Hats off to you for sticking with the trad gear Taylor. Personally, I was ready to tote something that goes bang into the woods.
Tried my climber once last year after a year off from it. Sucks if you don't have that groove down. Really sucks when you get up there and then have to shit really bad.
I have nothing against gun hunting. Hell I carried a gun all morning. Had the hammer back 4 times. Just couldn't make myself shoot. If I was desperate for meat id have the gun in hand. Other than my first deer I have never killed a buck with a gun. Not that I wouldn't. There is just a certain amount of respect that I carry for the deer that I'm not fulfilling when I'm walking around with a gun.
