5 days of not much

I didn't get to hunt today (Sunday) My son just arrived at home last night and we have a big family get together today.
Yesterday was exciting, the group drove the adjoining property when the fog finally lifted and I had 30-35 deer come by me within 50 yds including 6 bucks, just not the right bucks . Also had a coyote come through at about 75 yds and stop perfectly but I could shoot that direction knowing those guys were somewhere just across the fence line so I had to let him go as much as it pained me.
Late evening yesterday was unreal at the number of deer around me. A bunch of them were the deer from earlier that were working their way back home. Somewhere around 50 different deer yesterday with 9 different bucks, no shooters.
Farmer saw the buck, while feeding his cows, that I have been after 100 yds from my box out in the filed again( the one I was giving a break) at 4:30 yesterday afternoon. This buck is playing me like a fool. I least he survived the drives from yesterday, who knows about today, they may get a chance to smoke him.
Looking forward to adjusting a few setups over the next couple of weeks and getting back at for the 2 day.

Sounds like a really fun day of hunting Lundy. Just seeing that many deer is a big thrill. I look forward to reading more during the 2 day season. Keep after him & good luck!!
Dang! I've never even came close to seeing that many deer in one day over all my 35 years of hunting! That's awesome Kim! Hope the buck you're after gives you another chance during the 2 day season!

Those numbers daily used to be very common where I hunt, the last 6-8 years not so much.
I love the hunts, just not into the kill part as much anymore. If I get a chance at a particular buck or two I'll shoot them otherwise probably just eat an unused tag this year, just like last year. I was lucky enough to kill all 3 of my trilogy bucks ( 3 bucks that hung together from when they were little ) in 3 successive seasons and then last year I never even saw, in person or on camera, a buck I would consider shooting. This year there are a few I would shoot, I just need to figure them out a little better. I have been hunting deer for over 40 years and I probably enjoy it the last 10 years more than ever because there is ZERO self induced pressure to actually shoot a deer anymore.
I mean how many serious deer hunters do you know that hang bird feeders by the blinds

Great pics and thread Kim!
I , like you have taken a new stress free approach to deer season. I saw several different bucks this bow and gun season. Only one that I would consider a shooter, but no shot was available.
