I went out and checked the cams this morning and decided to head back a little further into the woods. Found a good rock to sit on and look for some squirell. Looked over and was happy to find BUCK RUBS. I counted about 5-6 trees all within about 30 yards of one another all tore up.

I once went to my buddy's stand and whipped out my knife and made a rub on a tree directly in front of his stand. The next time he hunted it he was all kinds of excited about the rub that "just appeared." If I remember correctly, he hunted the crap out of that stand for the next several weeks.

I used to do that on public land at deer creek... :).. I did it closer to the trucks to throw people off the good spots further in. I even went so far as to put up some private property signs once... Placed them along a fence in the middle of the woods to keep people out of a spot.. LOL If the dummies had a map they could have seen there was no way in hell it was private property.. Cought one guy in there one day and yelled at him across the holler.. He took off running.. ROTFLMAO... What a dick i was.

There was a road that went back through a field and deadened at deer creek.. If the creek was low i could cross in my lacrosse Alpha Burley boots.. I had to use waders once though... Anyway i went to the sign shop and got a small sign made that said "No hunting this side of the creek Per the Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks" And put it on the opposite side where it could be read from the other side. The kicker is, we don't even have a DWFP in Ohio that's what they call the DNR in Mississippi... LOL.. Worked though for the most part, I would still see one or two trucks there sometimes. They still hunted there but left the sign up.. Guess they thought it was a good idea too.

I just hope they stay off that old tractor path with the stupid flail mower. He started cutting the grass field in between the pond and corn this evening...wish they would just leave stuff alone out there lol.

I did pick up a new smaller buck on the cam the last few days :D lol

pics ??!!!

I'm pulling a Coonie lol. I just used my digital camera to check cards today. I will pull it and bring it back to the house tomorrow. I have to go out there and make sure they don't take the mower down that path since I finally got the deer patterned down there. Pizzed me off when I went past and seen that guy had started mowing the front part of that trail this evening :(. Oh well I guess I can't stop them but i can'f figure out what the guy is doing with the junk brush he is cutting and bailing. Makes no sense to me lol.

Rubs are good news! Didn't think we would see many quite yet. Figured maybe some small bushes tore up, but I suppose they are gonna use the trees to get the velvet off too.
