nice rack Tom. I've finally gotten my ribs to the right place this summer. St. Louis cut only for me from now on.

if you enjoy cooking (which I do very much), you are forever trying to out-do yourself. When Nancy and I got married, she could barely boil water. being empty nesters now, we cook together almost every day. Nancy's specialty is baking and deserts, but she makes for a damn fine sous chef, too. today we celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary, although we've been together for over 22 years now, and we actually got married on June 21, the summer solstice. instead of going out, we typically stay home and make ourselves a high class dinner. this year we went a little further and went and got professional massages together, then came home and made dinner. the menu was my choice this year, and I decided on surf and turf, Croton style. blackened venison loin, grilled spicy garlic shrimp, mashed Yukon golds, and a tomato/avocado salad with red onions and and a nifty cumin/spicy Thai Basil/garlic vinaigrette. all this sprinkled with pure, genuine love will be hard to beat. I'm coming down from a mild case of Stendhal Syndrome as I type. for a dirty heathen, I'm living pretty right.
