Opening Day 85 Degree High Temps

Why does the ODNR open archery season in September anyways. I know Kentucky opened earlier than Ohio and it had to be miserable hot to hunt there. But, this comes from a guy that hates temperatures over 75 degrees. I'll be doing something besides hunting on the 24th.

Man what I would give for an 85 degree opener. It was 96 when I shot the deer I n my avatar. Florida is worse there bow season starts the end of July

Yeah, as of right now I have nothing on camera pushing me to climb up a stand on opening day.

Showing 88 here with a WNW wind. If we get that wind, I'll hunt the morning with the girls. If it gets that hot, I'll wait to hunt the evening until Sunday.

Its the 4 1/2 hour ride to camp that makes it tough. It may be different if I still had a 3 minute ride.

Deer don't care if it's hot. I haven't found one I want to hunt yet but Mason wants to go. We may split up and hunt different areas. I don't like the fact he's growing up, but covering more ground would be nice.

I'm still very much unprepared for deer season in general. No cams, no food out. I'll make it out that weekend at least once though. Just sitting around watching squirrels and swatting mosquitos is not a bad time!
