Same. Even though I swore off hunting until my thermacell arrives, I've been waiting for this wind to hunt a spot that I "think" will be one of my better spots. Heading out shortly.

I imagine the mosquito's and the no-see-ums are gonna have a hard time finding you in this monsoon! At least that's what I was hoping for!

Yep. I've actually seen pretty good deer movement so far. Gonna try to get one down before the rut and the wave of hunters that follow.

That's cool, I always liked early season down there.... Very little pressure until close to gun season then all bets are off.... Opening day will have deer running around like rabbits down there then they'll be gone until late season....

For sure. I won't go near any of the public here during gun.

In a tree now. Storms have went aroud us so far. No wind. Only been on a tree for 40 minutes, and I've seen seven does, two as close as 30y.

Now, if the weather and right deer cooperate...

IMG_2509.jpgBeen in the stand all eve. Bumped a doe walking in and decided to hunt anyway. Seen a beautiful young 8 that got the chance to live another day.

I'm back home. Steady rain. It'll be here until 8pm. I'm not risking losing a deer if I got a shot at one. Sprinkles or off and on rain I would still be out. Steady rain I am not doing. I don't mind getting wet. Just want to ensure I have a bloodtrail to follow.

Had one of the most enjoyable sits I've had in a long time. Some over a dozen deer, mostly does and one 2yo eight. Nonstop action for two hours. The rain held off and wind was perfect. Climbed down and slipped out with deer still feeding close by.

Besides seeing all kinds of deer, I just felt blessed to be out there. I dunno, just felt like a higher power was looking down on me and smiling. Cool evening, one I won't soon forget.

Well I got soaked, but it stopped raining about 615 and I immediately had deer moving through. Saw 6 or 7 different does and 2 small bucks. One spike and a little 6. Definitely worth sitting through the downpour.
