It's not to late to come along, Flutie!

Several reasons I can't swing it, #1 being I cant get the vacation I need, two being I don't have all the toys needed to make this trip happen, and I can't justify spending that kind of $$$ this year to make it happen. Enjoy boys, I'll tag along next time!

Got a response from the MO DNR today on my request for a free index map of the topo maps for that area. I'm going to teach old Chad about orienteering off a topo with a compass. Where we are camping, we can push across in the canoe and catch a little drainage that will bring us up in an area about 1.5 mile square with no roads and no other sign of human life. We're going to find the best sign on the N/S running ridges in there and set up on them. With the topo maps, I can short cut our walks and narrow down the best areas to start with.

Got out last evening using my mobile setup. Pretty happy with the way it went as far as getting in quickly and quietly. Had a hiccup on the way down though. Second to last stick kicked out and I had to do some quick adjustments while hanging off the tree Lol. That was my fault, I don't think I cinched the stick tight enough and the tree wasn't very big in diameter.
