I had my stuff ready to go for this morning, got up before the alarm and sat here watching it get daylight. I'm either getting lazy or smart (can't be that). I didn't want to educate the resident deer before something good moves in. Since it's going to be so hot this afternoon and I'm off today I decided to take my daughter and her bf to Pittsburgh for a hockey game....Go PENS!

Headed to work this morning and there was a button buck on the side of the road not 1/4 mile from my house. I thought it was dead but decided to get out and look at it. It lifted its head up and then laid back down. He was alive but hurt badly and couldn't get up. I was thinking about calling the game warden and getting a tag from him but the thing was in a lot of pain and my crossbow was in the backseat from last nights hunt. I decided to put him out of his misery so shot him through the heart with a rage. Tagged him and threw him in the back of the truck. He is. Quartered and on ice now.

That's one way to get em I guess.

Good work. Hate to see it suffering.

Nice of you to do that Joel....

My buddy is in his stand and says it's raining acorns.... bouncing off of the stand isn't helping his concealment....

Well done Joel.
I didn't hunt tonight but did glass a cut bean field for a short while. We saw 7, two small bucks sparring. Had the AC on while we watched from the truck. :)

Joel just set the example as a conservation-minded ethical hunter.
Thanks for the extra effort!

That's what the anti's don't understand or won't talk about. Good job bro.
