That little shithead Levi is gonna be a hell of a man someday. He ain't scared of much and has a solid approach on things. I'm sure he was hell getting out of bed this morning, lol. Did he tell mom about the human society? [emoji23]
Great times were had again this year at Strouds!
I pulled out of camp right at 5:32 and saw like a dozen of so deer in or around the road before I reached 690. Dang near hit two doe just before passing Mikes house where there was like a herd of them that I drove through but no antlers on any of em. I had just started back towards Athens on 690 just before the burned up and gutted out mobile home on the left when I saw a big mature buck headed down the hill almost in the ditch to my right along 690. So I stopped about 25 yards from him waiting for him to cross when I realized I had my iPhone and video camera nearby but the big ole boy had enough and before I got to them he turned and bounded back up and away from me into the darkness. He was a nice 130-140" buck with very nice mass and decent 7-9" Tines on him.
The deer were really moving in the predawn hours that's for sure!

I went into work last night, so I didn't have the pleasure of getting him off to school. From what I understand it was a rough one for him.
He holds his "Man" time close and what goes on during that stays with him, he has such a respect for you guys and what he gets to experience, I don't think he lets any of it out. It's like his own little life secret that he doesn't feel the need to share with others.
Good deal. My favorite picture by far is the one of him eating a face full of tree rat ass. That, is what man camp is all about!

Great kid. He warmed up to my crazy ass as the weekend went on. Watching him shoot with everyone and then gearing up with the old man to go hunting was a nice touch on the weekend festivities. Highlight was when little dude was scarfing that squirrel down fresh off the smoker! He even ripped a quarter off for me to get in on the eats. He's gonna have his hands full with our geriatric asses at the 'strouds 2040' camp out. Ha. Raising him right Pops!

Saturday night around the camp fire, listening to all you VETS talking about random military life shit. I've known forever there was no shortage of VETS in the world of TOO, but looking around at ALL your ugly mugs at once hit home with me and made me feel even more fortunate to be sitting there with all you. You all get some serious 'street Cred' from this guy. No joke.

It was the closest can. I got a lip full of dust! Drinking a glass of water just wouldn't of been good enough.
