Should have stayed home. Only 2hrs to hunt tonight but you can't kill them at home. Killed my biggest out of this stand 2yrs ago today. So here I am. Warm and windy. Squirrels and birds are active. My cousin has had an awesome day down around Ironton. Hoping I have a good night. Using same rattling antlers which brought the big boy to me. Wind isn't exactly right for this set. Only 50% right. Lol

I did bump a big bodied single deer on way in. Also saw two different rubs couple hundred yards apart. Both on 6-8" diameter trees and high up on the tree. That is motivating. Good luck to you all.

I've got a toad, 8 yards out. Moving slow but determined. He's cautious, pausing to listen and watch. Probably one of the darkest grey coats I've seen. Looks like he's got a belly full of chipmunk. Lol. Between him and the turkeys that's all ive seen tonight. Lol

Hunted the last 40 minutes from the ground. Had a dink that was all worked up. Looked like he was about to jump out of his skin. Grunting up a storm

Had a great night on stand. Small 8 and a 6 came through. Then a borderline shooter 8 snuck through the creek bottom. I grunted a couple times. He kept going the same direction he was going but did show some interest. He went out of sight and then backdoored me offering up a 30 yard shot. I couldn't decide to shoot or not so I let him walk.

Shot a good one tonight. Would be my best. High shoulder hit, about 8 inches of penetration. H3 took off through a cut cornfield with my arrow hanging out of his shoulder. Made it about 250 yards before it came out. I lost sight of him after another 70 yards or so. Then he vanished.

Adam and I looked for 4 hours. The only blood we found was a few drops at the arrow which was broken off right behind the insert. Blood was bright red.

He could have gone anywhere. Finding a drop of blood in the middle of a cut corn field is all but impossible. He's not still in the field, so he had to have gone at least another 300 yards or so after losing the arrow.

I'm at a loss, I can not figure out why he didn't drop in that field. I firmly believe I got a lung. As he was running, the broadleaf had to be turning that lung into hamburger. How in the fuck did he make it at least 600 yards?
