What a day, what a day.....im loving this life, hunting with my dude, seeing all these deer today. Almost had an opportunity at that 7 but bad timing the buck was behind me, lol. Like Chad said go hard or go home. We gonna see dead buck tomorrow.

That's what I'm talking about!

Didn't see a thing. I hung this stand last year and have hunted it probably 8-10 times and have never seen a deer from it. When I was climbing down tonight one of the ladder rungs broke at one of the welds.
I was wearing a life line and harness and it was one of the lower steps but wtf. I don't want to fix it because I won't trust the other steps now and I was pretty much ready to give up on that stand site anyway after being skunked on every sit for two seasons. Hope you all had a better night than me out there.

Glad your alright Joel.

I don't blame you, but make sure you relay this to the manufacturer of the stand....

Thanks guys. I'm pretty paranoid/ cautious about tree stands. May be even more so after that.

I thought about contacting the manufacturer. Maybe they'll send me a new one? Doubtful but it's worth a shot and they should know their steps are falling off the damn things.

Glad you're ok. What brand of stand was it?

It was busy today, saw two bucks pushing does on my place this afternoon. A lot of movement all day. Still waiting on that stud 8 to show up again. I've got a killer 6 coming in that my wife may take during gun season though.

Another skunk, these public land deer are sure starting to feel the pressure right now. Nearly every parking area had at least one vehicle parked at it today....

I'm seeing the same stuff over here. Yesterday morning I sat basically right on top of a doe bedding area, this spot is a 40 minute hike from the nearest road. They came through in a flurry of activity about 30 minutes before light and it was dead after that. All of the Pheasant/rabbit hunters have pushed the guys that normally sit the field edges deeper in the woods and the deer have definitely shifted more nocturnal.

I would probably re- weld it and do my own QC work on the rest of the stand. Would definitely contact Mfg. But would do a Google/Youtube search first, looking for others who had problems. May help keep them from claiming your fault or an isolated case.

Couple good points there. Everything on the stand looked ok. No rust or anything and the weld just broke without warning when I stepped on it. If I fix that one spot I'll still be worried about the rest of the steps. Just about have to weld them all to be comfortable and I don't think I like the stand enough to do all that. It'll most likely end up in the trash.

I'm back in the spot I was at yesterday morning for a couple hours before church. This stand is a big game Titan. Would like to find a couple more Ike this. It feels much more sturdy, more room and more comfortable than my others.

Good luck everyone.

Damn the ones in delaware were the same way you ever try by clearfork lake

Nope I usually just hunt the areas fairly close to my house, Killbuck Marsh mostly. It's an hour drive to Clearfork for me and if I'm going to drive that far I have some other places in mind that I would rather head to.

Best buck I've seen all year just strolled by 100 yards out. Tried grunting and may have overdone it out of panic. He disappeared into a thicket but I am praying he comes back. Big deer.
