Just had an "all the fun, none of the mess" moments. We had a makeshift groundblind setup. Garrett said "Let's hang out here til 930 and then go change your camera card." It's his hunt. Works for me. 930 comes and I do a thorough look around before we move and see two young deer. Looks like a brother and sister. I try to identify a button as I'd rather not kill another future momma doe. Garrett has the cross hairs right on the heart according to his recollection of the moment. We were within 50yds. Never spooked. Never caught us moving. Told him it was up to him. He said he wanted a buck. Now he is regretting not shooting. Said he thought he only had a buck tag. Now that he realizes he can shoot anything, who knows what will happen. Likely not see anymore. Ha. Garrett says his trigger finger is itchy. Lmao
We have now moved to a spot 50 yds or so from either property line where we need to stop. It's as good a spot as any in this area. We decided to further clear this area of leaves for gun season. We like it here. Going to try some rattling. Wait a bit. Swap card. Grab lunch. Making memories today.
