DC Fun Country Tires

Anyone by chance have any experience with this tire? This is a great tread/compound hardness between an AT and a MT, but can't find anyone that I know that has run them to talk personal experience.

I have run a couple sets on my Silverado 2500. Last set I bought were junk. Blew one tire on the highway. One broke a belt in the tread and bubbled out over an inch caught it before it blew. Third tire blew in town. Didn't wait to see what the fourth did. This all happened within 6 months of each other. They were about 4 years old when it started. Loved them up until then. First sets I had were good to go so was probably a bad batch but I didn't want to take any more chances.

Awesome input Quantum. How many miles would you say at the 4yr mark or when they failed?

How was traction (dry, wet, mud, snow) and did you pull a trailer (if yes, what weight) with them. How was road noise?

I would guess probably about 25k on them.

Traction was great. Road noise was not bad at all. About the same as the AT. Just make sure you rotate them regularly about every 8k miles.

Towed fifth wheel camper. About 12.5k also towed goose neck trailers and enclosed trailers.

Those do not look much different than regular ATs to me. I don't know... Never seen them in person though so I can't offer any input on those tires.

I will say, I've got about 40k miles on my BFG All Terrain TA/KO2's and you can hardly tell they have any wear. These are by far the best tire I've ever owned. Quiet on the highway and more than satisfactory performance in mud or snow. Plus the sidewall makes them look a little beefier than what they really are, which is a plus IMO. Agressive looks, but practical performance. Very happy with them so far.

I use homie all the time, lol. I like to keep ppl on there toes and relate to old school more than new school in most ways. Never understood why you would call another man a piece of clothing, bra.

Back on point, others have had to run these tyres!

They seemed to need heat to grip, then if you spun them...they sucked again. I also didn't like the sidewall in them. Weak feeling in corners and towing. 285/75/17 on a 3500 dodge

I will also add that this was 4 years ago, plus however long before that they were bought. Tires are ever changing compounds to try and keep up with competition. A LOT could've changed in that time.

I have a 03 F350. I put Mastercraft mxt on my truck last year and am more than happy with them so far. They are an aggressive tire and very reasonably priced. They do have more than average road noise and make the ride a little rough but not too bad. I have had them in fields pulling wagons and on the road pulling a 25' gooseneck with a tractor loaded on it and cant complain with them other than they will dig some serious holes. For 285/75/16 load range E i paid 827 mounted and balanced.

I decided to move forward with the Fun Country's in 275/70/18. They arrived earlier this week and finally got them mounted today. First time ordering tires over the internet and there were no hiccups, whew. The tires came in split shipments (1 out of CT, 3 out of Indiana) and are not too old. 3 were made in 41st week of 2016, 1 made in 21st week 2016.

Overall I am pleased with the quality, ride and noise after 100 miles. Truck has a better stance even though they are only one size bigger than the stock Michelin LTX's (got 57K out of em) but measure a true 33.2" and a 1/2" wider. I'm curious to see how they handle at highway speeds with the camper and a full bed. Beer time on this sunny Friday:smiley_cheers:

Ive had a few sets of those Jim and ive gotten 90,000 miles out of them before, no kidding!

I don't get that kind of mileage out of mine but it is not apples to apples. Most of our trucks do a ton of start and stop driving. Slow speed turning, backing of trailers, and they all plow snow. I don't expect to get 80-90,000 miles on mine. The slow speed turning scrubs rubber off quicker.
