Walked to check the few snares i still have out instead of riding the quad, found #8 today. 0306171004.jpg0306171003-1.jpg0306171035.jpg Short tines so went 56 inches.
Still several holding.
This buck shed his left side back in mid December, guess he doesn't wanna give up his right side. Lol

May be time for a mercy kill on that one....

The picture almost shows like the left lower jaw is partially gone????

Nice finds boarhead. Looks like that deer has Cutaneous Fibromas they are considered hairless tumors. I have seen that down here in MD. Saw a case of that on my buddies farm this year and other properties in previous years.

Your having a good year congratulations
The deer does look nasty
Smokie does fibromas clear up?

According to this article it is possible. They say its okay to eat no way would I eat the deer. Here is the pic of the one that was killed on my buddies farm. It was nasty had the puss coming out of it just like this article describes.

Ran out to Illinois this past week-end to shed hunt and do some work... Put on a lot of miles shed hunting and scouting only to find 3 sheds and 2 dead bucks... Both bucks were on the farm I hunt, with one being a very nice 8 (120ish) that had a lot of potential and the other being a funky rack with no potential. Who knows what killed them. Trip was saved by getting some ladder stands moved and a new one put up in a great area. This stand needed some major chainsaw work to make it work. So now the area has time to calm down till Nov. Didn't see any bucks but everyone says they are still holding out there...
