I started a thread like this a couple of years ago and gained a lot of good ideas for what I can do to help. I borrowed a caller and I'm thinking about calling this evening, we will see how other things work out though (birthday party I'm trying to get out of, lol). I'm also thinking about grabbing the saw to do a little hinge cutting out back to create a better bedding area.

What did you do for the deer today?

I put out minerals the other day, gotta get another mineral site in tomorrow. Still trying to catch coyotes and will be calling them tomorrow morning. It never ends, Dave.

I have been compiling supplies and have my planning complete. I did what I could on the coyote front killing 2 males, now I'm switching gears to habitat management projects. Going to improve some bedding next weekend to kick things off.

What did I do to help the deer? Well I didn't shoot one this past year so that should help! rotflmao

I do need to get some salt and minerals out though.

I just got home from a day of shopping...I ain't doing anything for the deer today! Spent more money then I wanted to on kids shoes and other things. So I went into cheap ass mode and didn't buy the stuff to make my minerals. Maybe next week/weekend...not today though!

Today we checked "the dirt for food plots" as she informed her mother when we got home. First step in providing the best food sources I can manage with the resources I have available...

We ended up in the truck before Truex made it to victory lane and did a quick inventory. Myself and two kids counted 61 deer total in our 4 mile round trip. 11 packing head gear still. 1 skunk, 29 turkeys, 0 coyotes.
