I'm not gonna lie, I'm here for the prizes. That grand prize looks like a hell of a starter pack for a fella like me. I've never tried to kill one of these stupid ass birds...I will be on a property loaded with turkeys opening weekend though.

Maybe, I think I have a box call somewhere and some camo. No decoy or anything though. My porch always seem to be a good place in the spring also. Just never wanted to take my first one out the living room window. Doesn't seem like the right way to do it...kinda like bagging your cousin, just ain't right.

I agree on the porch. You don't need a decoy, I honestly never had any luck with them. A box call and a shotgun is all you need to get started. Just practice with it and get the cadence down.

Opening day is Monday, fugger.

Same opening day as ours.. Our season is broken up in week long segments by zones... Starts off with available permits being awarded through a lottery.. Then any left over permits are sold over the counter... Means you can shoot multiple birds during that week only one bird a day with an unfilled permit.. Example: Zone I live in still has permits left over... So Monday if I shoot a bird I could go check it in and buy another permit for the rest of that week... If I shoot one bird I'm satisfied...
