Everyone has preferences and I'm OK with someone not liking something. I just didn't think it was fair to say you are irresponsible if you carry a Glock with one in the chamber. Also I've never seen a Glock with a safety. Is that a special order or something. The only pot metal thing I can think of is the slide lock

Miller, good time to buy a Springfield. I just picked up a 9mm XDS in January, very happy with it.

They made some for foreign military and police that requested it as a requirement. They also made some domestically for law enforcement that eventually made it to the civilian market from police auctions. To my knowledge they never mass produced one for civilian purchase as a standard model though. I'm not sure if you could custom order one even though they did make them. There is also a bunch of after market companies that make safeties that can be added. It's not that uncommon to come across one that was either police auction or aftermarket safety added.

Interesting, I learned something new.

Both were new and blew apart because of +P ammo and cold weather.

Sure every manufacture has issues. Hell, I drive a Dodge and have just recently run into trans issues... Just bringing up something I've seen and found to be a problem. No injuries either time, but both guys were out a new gun because of it too. Glock won't warranty it, it comes with paperwork stating no hot loads. Which is what a lot of home defense rounds are...

I can't remember ever researching it, I'm sure a quick search would show that it's a somewhat common issue.

I also realize this has nothing to do with the original topic, lol.

Plus P reloaded ammo? No f-ing way would hot loads and cold weather blow up a gun. There is no factory ammo hot enough to blow a gun up. Ill bet they were reloads and thats why glock wont take care of it.

Damn you...now I'm gonna have to look into it when I get time. Maybe I'm misinformed or don't remember something correctly, but I'm pretty sure I'm in the ballpark here. Give me some time, next couple days are pretty busy. But you damn near called me a liar, lol, so I gotta prove you wrong! [emoji23]

Alright, I made time to do a quick search. Looks like what I likely seen could of been a couple of things and could happen to any gun. Just happen to both be Glocks that I seen it happen to. Maybe that's because they are the most popular? Who knows...but I still didn't like what I seen and have a muscle memory stuck in me deep enough that I won't own one.

I doubt it was legal or else he wouldn't have tried to throw the gun away. Just another dipshit giving law-abiding gun owners a bad rap.
