Live From the Stand 2017.

Just got set up. 2 new scrapes showed up overnight about 30 yds from my stand. Hopefully get some movement
My buddy Shawn scored a good one, we were hunting together and he switched stand locations around 9 because lack of sightings....
tattled a sequence and this showed up 10 minutes later...
25 yard shot, 50 yard recovery and then had a smaller 4 point come in while he was online tagging it trying to gore it lol
Small window to squeeze in a hunt. Going to hop in shower, smoke up, and hit the woods. Decoy will be used.
In the stand. Not even situated yet. I hear a doe bleat twice. I'm feeling pretty good already. SE winds. She was E of me and now SE. Heading towards the direction I spotted a decent buck last night. Maybe not a scoring machine but a massive frame on him and mature body. I'll tag a mature buck any day no matter what the score. Now go fetch him up for me you sweet little doe! Drag him back past my decoy and hopefully the good Lord allows me to get a clean shot on him.

I saw my good buddy, the 4 point. Bumped my other buddy, the 6 point on the way in. He was bedded right behind my stand. Not sure why he ran. He knows me by now.
Later a tiny spike came in.

Nice buck J Congrats to him. Saw 2 does, one was really old and fat lol. The best news is they got all the standing corn off within 5 miles of my place so hopefully it picks up around here

I had 23 sightings today, 9 different bucks. 4 chases seen and heard another. Lots of grunting. Even saw another bobkitty
Nice hunt Spencie! Doe and a fawn was it for me. Was really starting to consider letting an arrow fly. Starting to get an itchy finger. She wasn't liking the decoy. Kept stomping, head bobbing, walking away, coming back in, etc. She stopped at 33yds at one point. I had repositioned to draw. Dropped the range finder and hooked the release. About the time I started putting tension on the string to draw she decided to start walking again. Oh well. What would Brock say? All the fun, none of the mess!
