I'm still new to it and just go out with the basics. Just lucky to have a good spot where you don't have to have alot of decoys or be a good caller.
I'm fighting that battle too! Plus, my buddy spent $900 at Cabelas last night on decoys, so we're officially a "legit" field hunting operation now after 5 years of fiddlefucking around. Looking forward to getting after some sky carp this winter!
Shells, fulls, silos, some other odds and ends. What did he buy, all avians? I do pretty well with a dozen full bodies and two dozen silos.
We use Dakotas and my buddy has 6 Dave Smith's. We also have avian xs. Avian are by far the easiest to set up and are also by far the lightest. Dave Smith's are the most realistic though and cost a fortune!
I'm hoping the weather stays good after this weekend and the water stays open.
Looks like it's going to warm up so it should. If you need help killing them let me know lol.
That would be really cool. I would definitely try and make it. Is that private land?
Very cool. Let me know if that's something you want to do. I have a bunch of gear I can bring including a dog to get the birds. Also you are welcome to come up and do some field hunting if that's something you haven't experienced and are interested in.
all around the water back here is corn fields sometimes they hammer them but most of the time there on the water, the farmer always turns the fields early after picking them so im sure that doesnt help alot.
How’d the pup do?
