That would have the cops at our doors today.....
I grew up living in Youngstown. City kid, on the upper west side. We had a chunk of woods behind a plaza that ran (along with a creek) to mill creek park.
We always had B.B./pellet guns as kids and we always hunted down in hose woods our whole youth lol.... Walking to and from the woods with guns in hand, gun going down and usually some rabbits or the occasional pheasant coming home draped over my shoulder....
WTF do you think would happen if anyone saw that these days? LMAO!!!!

When I was 14 I did some trapping in that creek for a couple years. At first I didn’t have any money for traps so my neighbor gave me some advice and it worked great and netted me some cash for traps lol.... PETA would lose it seeing some kid getting all clubbing baby seals (muskrats for me) for some cash..... [emoji23]

Just a few things that came to mind sitting here looking out at my window at the snow coming down....

How about riding in the back of trucks. That was a norm, I’d end up in jail today if I put my kids back there and drove 55 mph down the road!

We made our own sled out of 2 x 8's and plywood. 50' rope pull it behind the car. And nobody got stiches, broken bone or concussion. 25 mph is FLYING behind a car w/ no steering!

I recall getting pulled around on a tractor innertube behind a 3 wheeler.

Chipped a tooth once and knocked the wind out of myself another time. We survived.

mattress sledding behind a farm truck in a field, burning trash in the village (still can in the south), playing tag and hide 'n' seek in the old junk yard, playing in random peoples woods, sneeking into the hog farmers barn at night and trying to ride hogs.

Oh man... all of the above and then some!

Most people didn’t have central A/C back then. I used to love putting smoke bombs on the window sill of an open window in the middle of the night.

How about Corning? Anybody remember that? Kids today don’t even know what it is.

I also remember putting all kinds of different condiments in zip lock bags and firing them at cars as they drive by at night. We hit a cop car once. Oh, was that a fun chase through the woods as he was bitching about just washing his cruiser. Almost couldn’t run from laughing so hard.

Well, grab some ears of corn from the local fields, shuck the kernels off and fill up a bag. Then at night, grab a handful and throw them at those big picture windows of houses as people sat in their living rooms watching TV. Never hurt any windows but sure scared the hell outta people. Corning.....we used to steal a van load of corn from a farm field, drive around drinking beer, and throwing corn cobs and empty beer bottles at mailboxes and signs while driving down the road.

Condiment packs....most of our little league baseball games resulted in trips to the local Dairy Queen for ice cream. Gently apply a couple tightly rolled condiment packs under a car tire and see what it does to the neighboring vehicle when it moves. Squirt!

Haha. We used to TP houses quite a bit. It was always fun waking up to trees full of toilet paper.

Yup, eggs was a classic one. Big Bro and I would soak cattails in kerosene and light them like a torch. We would sit down at the Ford ( a bridge that the water runs over ) and when a truck would cross at night, light the cattail and try and throw it in the bed of the truck. I have more to add later after I review the "Statute Of Limitations" rotflmao
