What? That was a nice car! Help us out before we throw out suggestions. Semi-auto, revolver, double as a carry piece. . . ?

Lol....I know.....it was getting too much for two car sets and a double stroller.....im really up in the air I just wanted to hear suggestions .....makes ,models ......I am leaning towards a semi....and maybe down the road I could carry it.

Tree Monkey,
A CCW is a very personal choice and so are the ways to carry them. :smiley_chinrub:

A few things to consider:
* Don't get caught up in the "caliber wars".
* Small handguns and large calibers don't mix.
* Don't go cheap. This is your life you're talking about. There's a difference between cheap and inexpensive.
* Shoot what you intend to carry...before you purchase. Kramer's in Celina has an indoor range and a good selection of handguns to try out. It's money well spent, considering how much a handgun will cost.
* Snub-nosed revolvers are easy to hide, comfortable to carry, extremely reliable and affordable.
* Make sure the handgun fits your hand...and your wallet...in that order.

What ever you purchase, be certain to check around on prices. Kramer's is a good place to SEE handguns, but not to purchase. Check out TNT Firearms in Findlay (near the airport). Bud's Gun Shop (online) will help you get an idea as to what most handguns should cost.

Here are a couple of forums to sort through, that may help your decision.

Good luck with your choices!

Thanks. Dan......I know what u mean about kramers.....been there a couple times....My best friends grandpa owns a store and he doesn't have the selection kramers has but he can get anything you want and he is $60 or more under kramers prices..I was thinkin about a. 38....but that might be over kill for the trappin part....... its all about shot placement and like u said know ur gun and being comfortable with your gun.

Like you, I've been "looking" but haven't bought...
One that I'm interested in is the Bersa Thunder .380...might be worth a look for you.
Economical and I've heard nothing but good things about them.

This is not a "you should buy" endorsement, just a "maybe you should look" endorsement.

I have held them and they don't fit my hand comfortably either. Nice piece though. I carry an Airweight S&W nearly everyday. I have been looking for a new carry piece, but not aggressively looking.

Dan, I bought one of those for the wife with the crimson laser grips.... I wouldn't want to be in her line of fire out to 20 yards.... One hell of an accurate gun....

Tree Monkey,
The Bersa line of handguns are good ones, but they're double action ONLY and that's the reason I passed on them.
Something else to keep in mind... If you can conceal a .380, you can conceal a 9mm.

Also, beware of the light and/or ultra-light revolvers. I shot a Ruger LCR and the recoil was vicious. Too light weight handguns are comfortable to carry, but not comfortable to shoot. When/If the time comes to actually shoot my CCW, I'd like to think that I can control it and/or won't be flinching due to a silly amount of recoil.

Tree I still have the .327 mag,, Ruger SP101. Have a fellow look at it but he has been looking since March 17th. Last words I had he was looking for a legal way for me to ship it to him. I think it is still listed in the classified.

My carry gun is a glock 26 in 9mm. Im not a fan of the full sized glocks but id recomend looking in to the compact glocks. The low bore axis, managable recoil, price, weight and simple controls make it worth a look.
