You too, bud. Does your wood stove have a name? The wood stove you see in my picture has a name. His name is Brian (Flammer)

'TOO' funny!

No mine doesn't have a name currently, but if I was to give her one, it would have to be 'Jessy' cause she's freaking HOT :ROFLMAO:;)

My prediction is that my 3 kids will all get a deer and I think they will all get a buck. My son may pass some buck but the daughters will take the 1st legal buck that comes thru. We won't kill as many deer this year as we still have alot in the freezer. Combination of killing bigger deer last year and not eating as much venison. Normally we put around 10 in the freezer, but I think we will probably end up around 6. Normally in PA we fill doe tags early and often in archery, but we are going to hold off on doe for the 1st couple of weeks. I am hoping that this means I will be skinning and butchering less. LOL. We have several buck running around the house in PA, so I think filling the buck tags should hopefully go pretty good. I haven't seen crap at camp this year, but that is normal. Seems like the buck don't start using our place until OCtober. That is OK as I don't have to worry about messing them up and pushing them off the property. You can't put pressure on a deer that isn't there. LOL.

I'll try. We'll get my daughter her first deer, the first one that presents a clear shot. I'll shoot a doe or button buck for the freezer and then the first decent buck I have a chance at. Like to shoot one a little bigger than the one in my avatar but a similar one will do. Any smaller and I'll just eat the tag (probably eating a tag lol).

Enjoy every moment with your precious daughter while hunting together in the wild outdoors this season.

Those are truly treasured moments in life.

Trust me on that one.

Good luck & God Bless to the both of you!

Out 47 responses on this thread, only 3 gave up a time frame, or a prediction if you will of when thier buck was going to be hitting the ground.

I appreciate everyone's commitment to the sport of hunting Whitetails - the having fun part, being with family & friends, getting closer to 'Mother Nature' & 'GOD' and all that warm & fuzzy good stuff. I 'TOO' truly appreciate all that, but that should be a given for anybody who hunts pretty much!

That wasn't part of my question originally though.

I was kind of hoping 'TOO' see more of you offer up a real enthusiastic, die-hard type attitude & commitment type answer towards your planning of harvesting your buck for the season.

IDK, maybe that's 'TOO' much 'TOO' ask on my part and I apologize.

Anyhow,

Below are the people that offered up a date or time frame of when they believe they'll harvest their buck. I truly appreciate and respect their answers.

Thanks fellas! (y) Best of luck to you guys!!!
  • Giles - ML season
  • Finelyshedded - 11/21 thru 11/22
  • Boarhead - Holloween
So far, the way I see it at this moment, three 'TOO' members have a plan in place at this time.

Nobody is going to hold anyone to what was stated on this thread. This was pretty much all in fun basically.

My main intent for this thread was to promote more friendly conversations among fellow deer hunters and to see who might possibly be the real the die hard types among you.

Thank you everyone for participating and sharing!

I truly appreciate it!

All of you have a great deer hunting season!

Good luck!!!

Im predicting I will go through more emotions this season taking Geyson out than I've ever experienced before. I sure hope he harvests one, but it wont make or break us. I know he'll get some opportunities to harvest one, without a doubt. I understand there will be lots of learning moments for both of us, I just wanna soak them all in. With work, I know my bow hunting will be limited once again. If forced to make a prediction, 2 scenarios that end in me harvesting a buck come to mind. First would be opening weekend, as we have had great luck in the past in early season. 2nd scenario is probably the weekend of gun season. We usually get on tons of deer that week, just a matter of something I like enough to try and harvest

So the only way for me to convey my plan is to make an arbitrary prediction?

No - nobody said that. It's not the only way...

You can do whatever your heart desires.

It appears that you have everything under control.

I'm sure you have it all figured out.

Regardless, I wish you the best of luck!
