Before all the talk about poisoning or shooting or trapping these dogs, you should actually try a legal method like calling a local authority for assistance. There's no such thing as a bad dog....just bad owners.
I agree. Good advice and thanks for the input guys. Love this forum because no one gets too worked up. Thanks for the input everyone. Will take the high road and legal road for sure. Before all the talk about poisoning or shooting or trapping these dogs, you should actually try a legal method like calling a local authority for assistance. Good deal man. I hope it works out for you. You never know with some government entities... Hopefully you get in touch with some folks who are worth a damn.I agree. No worries. Nothing illegal will occur. Mods can shut this down if they want but I think this is just an honest exchange of opinions. Hypothetical for everyone but me. No biggie. So you've got a couple.of options.
1. The legal route that will undoubtedly lead to a lot of time and aggravation but keep you out of trouble. This will also cause issues with the neighbors and lead to long-standing issues. Especially because you don't live there. Your shit will start to come up missing, cabin broke in to, cams and stands stolen etc. They WILL make your life hell.
You can go the "illegal" route. Shoot the fucking things and keep your mouth shut. Don't leave, burry, or dispose of them in any manner on your property. Dont drive them somewhere and dump them off. Dead dogs bring a lot of media attention. Leave immediately and take them somewhere far away where you are SURE they will not be found.
Or a combo of the two. The legal route with a affirmative defense. "They were aggressive" they attacked my chicken that I just bought from TSC. Etc. This may work once but not more than that. And it will also piss off the neighbors. You are also legally allowed to snare yotes on your property. As far as I know you have no duty to find the owner and notify them if you accidentally snare one or six. Just make sure you follow all laws.
Whatever you decide I don't want to know, don't post it, and let me know before you do anything so I can delete this thread. I can't help you if the popos get involved, at that point I'm destroying evidence. Before that however its just just keeping the forum clean of an old thread.

You live two hours away, so checking your traps every 24 hours is probably out of the question. Killing the dogs is bullshit imo if they aren't being aggressive towards you or your family, it ain't their fault they are allowed to run loose. Call the authorities and go from there.
IMO Goddard's Law is right up there with breaking laws such as spitting in public. I can not, will not, or ever will place a pets life or rights on an equal plane as those of a human. I don't believe pets are part of the family either. I know most will disagree with me. In my mind a dog, cat, bird or goldfish is no different than a cow, pig or chicken. And most of us have one or these in a meal weekly.
Goddard was a great weatherman, but he should have kept his animal thoughts to himself.
Another liberal Obama crony....Cass Sunstein wrote that animals, like livestock and pets, should be entitled to legal counsel and that they should be able to sue you.
Not true. As the landowner, you have the right to neutralize a perceived threat. A dog with no collar is a coyote in the eyes of the law. Happens many times over with farmers and livestock.
Coyote does it to survive, dog does it for the chase. He has a bowl of food at the house.Do you think dogs running deer is any different than coyotes running deer. I'm asking because I don't know.
I rarely see coyotes during legal hunting hours. I see these fellas more days than not.Do you think dogs running deer is any different than coyotes running deer. I'm asking because I don't know.
Thank you Mr. Obvious. Does a deer see a dog vs. coyote as a lesser threat or equal threat?Coyote does it to survive, dog does it for the chase. He has a bowl of food at the house.
I can’t speak for the deer, maybe ask a liberal? I thought you were asking IMO, not the deers.Thank you Mr. Obvious. Does a deer see a dog vs. coyote as a lesser threat or equal threat?
