It was a blast to just get away from everyday life. I got to meet a bunch of good people while down in camp. The food was amazing and filling. On the first day of camp Steve and I went and hung stands, we hunted that evening until the rain started, then we called it a night. We went out the next evening to a spot where Giles suggested we should go and sit. Steve and I found a spot on the side of the hill over looking a path that the deer had down to mud. We had deer come in behind us where they blew at us, then shortly after they blew we had a button buck come walking out and I wasn’t able to connect. Then about fifth teen minutes later a doe come wandering down the path, where I was able to take a shot. She dropped where I hit her spine, it was a bad shot but I put another shot in her where she didn’t suffer. If it wasn’t for Giles putting me in the spot I wouldn’t be able to have the memories that I have and the deer meat in my freezer. The whole trip was a blast and I can’t wait for the trip next year.
