Mummified Fawn

Saturday morning I was cleaning out our barn in an effort to convert one of the cattle stalls into a chicken coop for the winter. I found this in the process. It was wedged between the stall and an old commercial chest freezer we use to store feed. From what I could tell, it made it there in one piece. It could have been drug there, but it also could have found it's way there given that the barn buts right up to the woods/CRP.

I’d take a guess that it was probably picked up dead and left there by a dog or other 4 legged creature that made the farm home...

Crazy find! I wonder how old it is.

Well, it was built in 1998, so at least after then! One of the femurs had already turned black like a fossil, so it's been there for a hot minute. Probably a future Booner too.
