Texas has a ton of RV sales with hundreds of campers on their lots.... If I was in the market, I’d be looking down here and drive it home camping all the way....

I’ve got a badass husky lawn mower bub.
Seriously what has happened is our needs have changed. I’m planning on living out of it for more then half the year. I want a chair to sit in after work and a full size shower. My average PERDM is $125 a day and I piss that away on hotels. I don’t like that idea...do the math...$3,000 a month going towards a bed and shower. Why not put that money towards something.

Something I never looked at before this morning was what this 2003’ 2500HD could tow...not impressed. Pretty sure her half ton has better numbers. Might need to rethink this truck situation...
16,100 with 5th wheel. I wouldn't want to tow a 12k bumper pull on a regular basis. Min of 1200lb tongue weight will push most WDH and OEM hitch limits.
LB7s were 300hp/520ft/lbs. stock. Easily the most buildable by cost. My 01 with a small 75hp tune would run circles around my 14 LML with 397/765. Mpg was 16 no matter how she was loaded or what she was pulling. Empty was 20/21 with summer fuel and 18 with winter.
What you are forgetting with a family is cargo capacity and GVWR. Gross on the 03 is 9200. In addition, while there are plenty of 1/2ton towable 5th wheels, I bet you will be hard pressed on GRAWR to find the right pin weight based on what you are looking at right now.

Yeah...my problem with building a truck is that I can’t stop. Last one ended up with compounds. I’d like to think that I’m getting older and have some self control, but I know better.
So here’s a thought.

EFI with only 3 tunes...just stay the hell away from hot tunes all together.
Stock intake should be fine. Might need to get the air away though for towing. So an exhaust might be added to the list. I don’t want to go with a fuel system...because then I know I’ll want to get my monies worth out of it.
So here’s a thought.
