Worked on a giant shag bark hickory today. Ran out of daylight or else I would have gotten the whole thing cut up. Bad perspective, but that root ball is probably close to 7' tall at it's highest.

That's a solid 2 day cleanup doing it solo. Good backyard campfire material with the scraps.

Not my yard, friend of my moms. Which means since I'm loading the wood on a trailer and hauling home, it will end up being more than two days. Factor in the time for splitting, and I'm for sure earning my winter heat!

It's amazing how fast Peking ducks grow company to the non-market varieties! We're up to 13 ducks and 12 chicks and the 4 Pekings are 4xs the size of the khaki Campbell ducklings that are the same age and 10xs the size of the blue laced wyandotte chicks of the same age. Little bastards are eating me out of house and home! The garage is cold again, so they're all huddling under the lamps today. Lazy Sunday's are the best!

Gonna bring up rabbits again...not so nasty. You are talking ducks right out of my wheelhouse. Even though I prefer duck eggs over chicken...meat and mess means something. Droppings/fertilizer thoughts are in my mind now...

Looking good though! Carry on, just arguing with myself over zombies and such.

Check your neighbors Ben. Duck eggs are good, more richer than a chicken egg and used mostly in baking for added richness and texture.

Be careful, you will find yourself on a run when doc says WTF u do to your cholesterol lol!

Lost two ducks in the barn last night. Bums me out and pisses me off at the same time. The whole bottom half was stripped on the one, the other had its asshole eaten out. I assume it's a possum, but am a little surprised it made it into the pen. I'll be on the war path for a few days.
