Something to think about even if you aren’t.

The fall doesn’t happen while just sitting there...and just because something never happened to you doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. That’s just plain ignorance that’ll get a fella hurt. I’ve never had a seatbelt save my life, doesn’t mean I don’t need it.

Right...so you won't have a harness on when getting off or on to the platform/stand so it hasn't made much sense to me. I don't wear one but as I get older,...this year may be the first where I strap in. Plus my new stand is way the F tall. Dunno.

That is where a lifeline comes into play. You have it in place and tie in before you leave the ground, all the way up, sitting there and then back down. 100% tied in.

I have one for my ladder stand. Was unsure what to use with my climber on the way up/down.

We have lifelines on all of our sets except a couple ladder stands. Need to get a couple more.
Nice thing about buying and using Millennium stands a lifeline comes with them.
I remember back when I started hunting hell we didn't even have safety vests just climbed up and hunted.
Really liking the lifelines after using for a couple years.

installing life lines adds about 3 minutes total to the time it takes to hang a treestand. just part of the drill for me now. it's crazy to NOT be using these if you hunt in trees. for the cost of a large pizza, you never have to worry about free falling to your death while hunting ever again.

Started using life lines 4 or 5 years ago now I won’t get in a stand without one
I hunted for years and years with nothing it never bothered me but I am old now and life lines are the only way I will climb in a stand
For the climber there is a band you can get that snaps around the tree I can’t remember the name but I will look it up

Ok... So this thread starts out something like... "So I went on a small rant last week"... Dave... When don't you go on a long winded rant??? 🤣🤣. Years ago never wore anything... Now attached to life line from the get go... Never leave stands up all year for Mother Nature to destroy....
