I was on just about every outdoor site that focused on Ohio or lake Erie. They all had a small percentage of good content, but also heavily moderated and full of trolls.

I think Lundy/Kim owns it J. I joined it not long ago to help me deal with my off time. He is all over everything in that place. I didn’t make it long before I was so pissed off I had to walk away. Can’t even say Mexican or Amish. Wtf
It and other forums sold out to a large outdoor marketing firm who dictates what can and can't be said on the forum. They use moderators to heavily censor and dictate what is and isn't allowed based upon what the ad sponsors deem acceptable. They use member content to generate ad revenue while also dictating what content is allowed.
Over the years we have been approached by similar companies and advertisers. We always tell them the same thing, we didn't start TOO to make money, we started it for the members to find a place to call home and not be constrained by content police. An ad company wanted to buy the forum just a couple weeks ago, as you can see that didn't and will never happen.
Let the hazing of the noobs begin....

The best thing about here is it is self moderated. Also the fact there is no need to make sponsors happy by censoring everything people do and say. Definitely one of a kind when it comes to forums.

Never understood the mentality that sponsors are king, without the members, the sponsors wouldn't have anyone to advertise to. Logic tells me the members matter the most. Boy they sure don't like it when you tell them that though.

I’m an outsider (not from Ohio) and the members here are like the buddy’s I hang with. Yeah we can be nice, crude, rude, funny, supportive, educational and rib each other without a keyboard fight. This format keeps me watching and posting. I’ve posted some offensive shit in “today’s eyes” but it’s never in a fashion to hurt someone or belittle them. It’s all in fun and I feel like I’m sharing a campfire with you fugs that I’ve never met. This is a special place and not for everyone.....I love it. If your thin skinned, this site ain’t for you, move along and let the men be men. Thanks for letting me in.
Anytime, the regular nonresidents Sgt, Fletch and yourself with a few others I’m missing are great too converse and rib each other... Very few places can replicate this and hopefully it never changes.... Looking forward too meeting you someday at an outing...

Yep, you guys all saw what happens when sponsors got involved with BHO. It was a busy site and had a group of guys similar to what is here. As soon as we had to start watching what everyone said, how it was said and all is when it went downhill. God forbid anyone said anything bad about a product featured on the site. Then all the promises they'd (sponsors and owners) make and never intended to keep. That whole situation sure turned my opinion about sponsors and so called pro (promotion) staff. Never fucking again.

I've been down the "Pro-Staff" rabbit hole and it ain't worth the effort. I nearly pulled the trigger to join Midwest Whitetail when they first launched. So glad I didn't as it was a waste of time and money for A LOT of guys and I'd have sold out for nothing in the end. The industry is one that takes, takes, and takes...

It's the greatest scam to take advantage of youthful ambition and hollow affiliations ever. It's such a load of BS the industry even had to change the name to "Influencers".
